As is common practice within the hotel industry, guests are required to present a valid credit or debit card upon arrival to the hotel. This will be used for a pre-authorisation or charge to cover accommodation (if not already pre-paid) and any incidental extras during your stay. A temporary pre-authorisation is based on the length of your stay and will be held on your card. Any unused funds will be released upon departure. Please be aware that it may take a few days for the funds to reappear in your account, depending on your bank or card provider’s processing times.

A discretionary nightly service charge of £15 will be added to your hotel bill. The service charge is a payment which recognises and rewards all employees for exceeding your expectations, and the entire amount is shared equally between the team. There is absolutely no obligation to pay this, and you may wish to wait until check-out to decide. If you’d prefer to opt out in advance, you’re welcome to let us know at any time, whether before arrival, at check-in, or during your stay.

A discretionary charitable donation of £1 will be included in your final invoice. Red Carnation Hotels matches all donations pound for pound and all monies raised are divided equally between two charities working with seriously ill children, Starlight Children’s Foundation and Hospitality Action, which offers support to those in the hospitality industry facing challenges such as illness, financial difficulties, or addiction. We respect that you may wish to support other charitable organisations, if this is the case, please ask for the charge to be removed from your account.

Check-in at The Chesterfield Mayfair is from 3pm, and check-out is until 12pm. 

Please be advised our standard check-in time is any time after 3pm. To guarantee early check-in, it is necessary to book the previous night or contact our reservations team to discuss availability for guaranteed early check-in for a fee on the day. You are welcome to leave your luggage free of charge in our luggage store prior to your check-in.

Wireless internet is available in all bedrooms and common areas, free of charge.

Unfortunately, we do not have a gym at the hotel.

Our concierge can provide a valet service with a charge of £65 for 24-hours. When you request your car to be returned, please allow 20 minutes for retrieval. We also need to know your time of arrival when you book this.

Alternatively, there are several National Car Parks (NCP) locally. The height restriction is 1.90 metres.

Please note: Central London operates a congestion charge zone between the hours of 7am and 10pm daily, excluding Christmas Day. The current daily charge when entering the zone is £15. Pets are warmly welcomed in our guest bedrooms, and we offer a range of pet beds and menus that can be arranged when you make your reservation. An additional charge of £50 per night applies for guests bringing pets, and we kindly ask that you provide prior notification.

By April 2025, all travellers who do not currently need a visa will require an ETA to travel to the UK.

The Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) is a new requirement that grants permission to travel to the UK from 2025. This applies to all international travellers wishing to visit or transit through England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. You will need an ETA to visit Northern Ireland, whether you are arriving directly or via the Republic of Ireland.

All international travellers, including children and babies need an ETA. Irish and British citizens are exempt. 

The ETA is valid for two years, and allows multiple visits of up to six months per trip. The fastest way to apply is using the UK ETA app, available on the Apple Store and Google Play.
