Our family

Led by General Manager Adam Lake, with 24 years of service, The Chesterfield team is made up of a family of passionate people, with each staff member committed to giving their very best. We are proud to be a part of the family-owned and run Red Carnation Hotel Collection and our warm, inclusive ethos embraces every aspect of our guests’ experiences, and we are honoured that they choose to stay with us again and again.

Exterior of The Chesterfield Mayfair

A perfect location

It just doesn’t get any more central than this. With the smart shops of Bond Street nearby and some of London's most vibrant sights – The Royal Academy, Buckingham Palace, the Royal Parks – just a short stroll away, this truly is the beating heart of Mayfair. Yet our elegant Charles Street address offers a tranquil haven from the bustle outside, a place to retreat, relax and regroup.

Thoughtful touches

Step into our polished marble lobby and you will immediately notice the warm and personalised service that defines The Chesterfield. Our staff members are empowered to make a real difference to each and every guest’s stay, whether that’s remembering a favourite welcome drink or organising a romantic surprise for a special birthday, we go above and beyond to ensure every stay is exceptional.

Unique design

We flood every guest room with creativity and comfort, and each has its own style and personality, filled with beautiful artworks and antiques personally chosen by our founder Bea Tollman, and her daughter Toni. Sumptuous fabric-covered walls, colourful prints and personal touches such as fresh-cut bouquets of flowers add a surprising and uniquely welcoming feel that delights guests.

Delicious cuisine

Exhale and relax after a busy day of exploring London in the warm, intimate surrounds of Butlers Restaurant. Renowned for serving London’s best Dover sole, filleted right at your table, our Executive Chef Nathan Hindmarsh offers an enticing range of delicious dishes that make the most of organic, seasonal British ingredients – from salmon smoked by H.Forman & Son, London’s oldest smokery, and classics such as roasted Orkney scallops and venison Wellington, to our famous signature dishes, devised by Bea Tollman herself.

Magic of mixology

Our cosy Terrace Bar, elegantly furnished in bottle green, with deep club chairs and a long, stylish bar, serves some of London’s most innovative cocktails and pairings. Whether you opt for a thrillingly theatrical molecular cocktail, an inventive beer and cheese tasting, or pop in during our lively Gin & Jazz evenings on Wednesdays, this is a place to sit back, smile and make the most of your beguiling time here.

Afternoon tea experience

Sweet treats

From the theatrical smoking pink lemonade, to the surprising and delicious sweetshop-themed cakes our whimsical afternoon tea brings a playful, bygone era to vivid life. Scrumptious chocolate scones and mouth-watering finger sandwiches are accompanied by a glorious tea list, or perhaps an indulgent glass of Champagne. Round off the afternoon with a bag of fun pick 'n' mix sweets, served by our cheerful staff in vintage candy-stripe aprons.

Authentic experiences

We pride ourselves on our local relationships, and carefully design remarkable experiences for guests. Our in-house whisky tasting, for example, is a gleeful gallop around the globe led by our expert mixologist, either in the elegant Terrace Bar or in the intimate surroundings of the book-lined library.

Family orientated

Children and beloved four-legged friends are looked after like royalty. Children can enjoy their very own check-in, and discover little surprises such as their own mini-sized bathrobes and slippers. Parents, meanwhile, can relax with added extras such as in-room baby essentials and a highly qualified nanny on request. Pets are truly spoiled by our designated Pet Concierge, offering special treats and walks in the Royal Parks.

We care

We are deeply committed to protecting our environment and contributing to local causes, including phasing out single-use plastics, saving energy, and supporting local charities such as The Springboard Charity and Action Against Hunger. We also work with Winnow Solutions to help reduce our food waste. Staff are encouraged to take two days’ paid leave each year to carry out charity work, and we even keep bees on our roof – 60,000 of them – producing honey for our guests to enjoy at breakfast.
